Today is a very sad day for us at Washington Riding Centre. Our gorgeous Rio has unfortunately been put to sleep. This has came as a shock to us all. Over the past couple of days she has looked unwell, we have had urine samples and blood tests taken from her and today we decided to take her to the vets for scans. They did a rectal scan on Rio which discovered a very large tumour in Rio’s bladder. The size of the tumour leads the vets to believe it has taken many years to develop and become this large and out of the blue can just start to show signs of severe pain and discomfort.

As many of you know, Rio has been with us for a lot of years and has helped so many people become the riders they are today. She will be missed so much by staff and everyone that attends the riding school.
