Prim is the featured horse this month (Jan 2014)

Prim was born in 2004.  She is a dun mare approx 16HH and a Connemara X Irish Draught Horse

Prim has only been at the Centre for five months but already she has become a firm favourite. She was purchased with money donated to the Centre by a company called Kavli. Among other things they make Primula Cheese so they asked if she could be called Primula.

The lady who owned Prim had owned her since she was a foal. She had done a great job of training Prim who is a delight to ride. Unfortunately she really dislikes going in the horse box and her owner wanted to compete at Dressage competitions. The owner persevered for a long time but eventually decided it was not the life for Prim so made the sad decision to sell her.

As soon Jane saw Prim she thought she would be perfect for the Centre, after she rode her she was convinced.

When Jane went to collect her she took out the partitions of the horse box to give her lots of room. It took about an hour to persuade her to load but once she was on she was no bother. She came from a nearby yard so the journey was short and she arrived safe and sound. The fact that she does not travel is not a problem for WRC because we hope to keep her here for the rest of her life.
